Leadership

Eugene Gilbert Walters

Eugene Gilbert Walters

Editor in Chief

Eugene Gilbert Walters is the Editor in Chief at Cosmopolitan Courier, where he shapes the magazine’s coverage of travel, style, wellness, family, finance and business.

His career began in a local newsroom, where he learned to find the human story behind a headline and make complex subjects clear. He later moved into magazine journalism, working across features, interviews and travel writing before taking on editorial leadership roles. Those years taught him to balance strong storytelling with accuracy, usefulness and a clear sense of who a story is for.

Eugene joined Cosmopolitan Courier because he saw the potential for a magazine that could cover many parts of modern life with a consistent point of view. He wanted to build a publication that felt curious and open, while being selective about the stories it gave prominence to.

He is especially interested in the people behind places and ideas, and in the details that make a story stay with a reader. Whether he is editing a profile, a practical guide or a piece of analysis, he looks for a distinct perspective and a reason the story matters.

Colleagues know Eugene for his calm judgement, dry humour and willingness to ask one more question. He believes good editing is often about making space for the strongest idea, then helping the writer express it with clarity and character.

I’m drawn to stories that help us see something familiar in a new way. My job is to make sure each one earns the reader’s attention.

Annabel Vellacourt

Annabel Vellacourt

Director of Editorial Partnerships

Annabel Vellacourt leads editorial partnerships at Cosmopolitan Courier, where she works with hotels, resorts and destination teams to bring distinctive places to the attention of the magazine’s readers.

She began her career in guest relations at an independent hotel, where she learned how much a memorable stay depends on the people behind it. From there, she moved into travel communications, helping boutique hotels and destination businesses share what made them distinctive. Her work involved building media relationships, coordinating property visits and developing stories that gave audiences a clearer sense of a place.

Over time, Annabel became interested in the point where hospitality and editorial storytelling meet. She joined Cosmopolitan Courier to develop partnerships that help readers discover exceptional places while preserving the magazine’s independent editorial voice.

Annabel is especially drawn to properties with a strong sense of place: the character of a building, its connection to the landscape and community, and the thoughtful details guests remember. She enjoys learning how a hotel came to be and what its team hopes visitors will take away from a stay.

Warm and naturally curious, Annabel believes good partnerships begin with listening. She enjoys bringing people together and finding shared ground between a property’s story and what readers genuinely want to know. Her aim is to help create coverage that feels considered, useful and true to the experience a place offers.

I joined Cosmopolitan Courier because I believe the best travel stories start with genuine curiosity. I love discovering what makes a place matter to the people who visit, then helping share that with readers in a thoughtful way.

Jesse Tran

Jesse Tran

Social Media Manager

Jesse Tran manages Cosmopolitan Courier’s social media, shaping how the magazine reaches readers across the platforms they already use. She brings the same care to each post that the editors bring to every page.

Her work includes sharing stories with the right context, creating clear paths back to the magazine and building the conversations that help new readers discover it. She also manages the weekly newsletter cadence as it develops. Her approach is steady and considered, with a focus on useful, on-brand communication rather than noise.

Jesse believes a magazine’s social presence should feel like an extension of the publication itself: calm, generous and worth stopping for. For her, success means helping readers find stories they value, while making sure Cosmopolitan Courier always feels like itself.
